Tourism Kelowna, District of Lake Country, and Visit Westside partnered to launch a campaign in the Lower Mainland to encourage visitation to the Central Okanagan this summer. After the challenges faced by the region last year, the three organizations jointly submitted a partnership application to Destination BC's (DBC) Co-operative Marketing Partnership Program (Co-op Program) to bolster late summer travel in 2024.
Thanks to the successful Co-op Program application, which provides funding from DBC, new photo and video assets were acquired and used in social media marketing and paid advertising with outlets in the Lower Mainland. The campaign reminds audiences of what summer in Kelowna, Lake Country, and West Kelowna has to offer, encouraging visitors to make one more trip to make the most of sunny days right now.
Since its launch at the beginning of August, the campaign advertising (examples shown below) has achieved a reach of over 205,000 on social media and resulted in nearly 5,000 sessions to the campaign landing page. The campaign will continue to run until the end of August using social media, display ads, native advertising, and newsletters.
In addition to this targeted campaign, we are supporting the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association's marketing efforts around its Travel Now to the Thompson Okanagan On Us campaign, a contest-based activation designed to push late summer and fall travel.
