Kelowna is a top destination for Nordic skiing in the Okanagan, offering access to more than 250 km of groomed trails for both classic and skate skiers. Whether you're a beginner looking for gentle terrain or an experienced skier training on rolling hills, you’ll find scenic, well-maintained trails just minutes from the city and in nearby alpine areas.
Located about 25 minutes from downtown, Telemark offers over 50 km of groomed ski trails and 60 km of snowshoe trails. You’ll find terrain for all abilities, including dog-friendly loops and scenic viewpoints. The club also offers equipment rentals, warming shelters, and a welcoming atmosphere for families, beginners, and seasoned skiers alike.
A local favourite for backcountry vibes and quiet trails, the Kelowna Nordic Club boasts 75 km of groomed ski trails and 24 snowshoe routes. Trails vary from beginner-friendly to advanced loops, and warming cabins along the way offer cozy rest spots. Bring your own gear and enjoy dog-friendly skiing on over 20 km of trails.
In addition to its alpine runs, Big White features 25 km of Nordic trails winding through the woods near Happy Valley. Rentals and trail info are available at the resort, making it easy to combine cross-country skiing with downhill or other winter activities.
Just one hour from Kelowna, Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre and SilverStar Mountain Resort, are two neighbouring facilities that combine to form Canada’s largest daily groomed Nordic system with more than 100 km of trails. Perfect for a day trip or overnight getaway, they offer rentals, lessons, and top-tier grooming for all levels.
