Biking

The mountain biking terrain near Kelowna serves up a challenge for both experts and novices

With over 400 km of bike lanes and with more than 60 km separated from vehicle traffic, Kelowna offers one of Canada’s most extensive and scenic cycling networks. Whether you're chasing adrenaline on mountain singletrack, coasting along lakeside trails, or cruising through the city, there's a route for every rider.

Hit the technical trails at Gillard or Crawford for a thrill, or enjoy a relaxed ride on the flat, family-friendly Okanagan Rail Trail, which weaves past orchards, lakes, and local landmarks. Another favourite is the Mission Creek Greenway—a 16 km packed gravel path that follows the creek from the lakeshore to the eastern hills. With shaded rest areas, interpretive signage, and multiple access points, it’s ideal for all skill levels.

Bike rentals and e-bike options make it easy to explore without bringing your own gear. As you ride, be mindful of other trail users and support the places you ride. Here are tips on riding safely and responsibly.
