Paid advertising is key to our overall destination marketing and promotion plan. It is the component of our marketing and communication strategy—from which tactics are executed throughout the year—that places targeted advertisements in specific geographic locations to connect with target travellers. We place paid advertisements at specific times of the year to further generate interest and demand for travel to Kelowna.
Our 14-week paid advertising campaign for fall ran in British Columbia, Alberta, and Ontario. Tactics used in the campaign include digital pre-roll video on YouTube, connected TV ads on Amazon Prime, social media ads on Facebook and Instagram, digital display ads, and paid search advertising.
Our media/advertising agency closely monitors the advertising performance of each tactic, making adjustments to deliver optimal value and reach. Our team also continuously reviews the performance of our tactics to make adjustments during the campaign or apply learnings to future media bookings. The fall flight of advertising delivered nearly 28 million impressions and earned over $30,000 in added value (bonus) advertising.

WINTER 2024/25 ADVERTISING
For winter-specific paid advertising, we have ads running in British Columbia, Alberta, and Ontario on Connected TV (Amazon Prime), social media (Facebook and Instagram), and paid search advertising to create further awareness of the winter experiences that await in Kelowna and the Central Okanagan.
