With local farms, orchards, and vineyards supplying restaurants across the region, the Okanagan is a prime destination for lovers of good food and drink. And while we might sound biased, Kelowna was named a UNESCO City of Gastronomy in recognition of our thriving food culture.
We’ve gathered a list of fabulous Foodie Spots to help you figure out where to eat in Kelowna. All of the Kelowna restaurants below use local ingredients to deliver a true taste of our region.
Casual Eats & Local Favourites Around Kelowna and the Okanagan

There are plenty of winery patios and fine dining experiences in Kelowna. But these casual spots prove that craft beer, tacos, and platters of smoked meat can make for memorable culinary experiences, too.
El Taquero is the closest you can get to eating from a Mexican street-side taco stand in Kelowna. Chef Izzy Camarillo and Marnie Burnett co-founded El Taquero to bring their authentic tacos and family recipes to the masses, and after 10 years, they are still going strong. Try a tequila or mezcal-based cocktail, a seasonal cocktail feature, or house-made horchata or aguas frescas, and sit at a picnic table on the patio to really transport yourself.
Not far away in Kelowna’s North End is Vice & Virtue Brewing Co, a modern brewpub that’s beloved for its mixed menu of hop-forward, experimental and traditional craft beers. Since adding a kitchen in 2025, it has quickly become known for its elevated comfort food. Check out their Thursday evening Chef's Table, a four-course menu built around seasonal Okanagan ingredients that changes weekly, so it's worth coming back for more than once. Each course is paired with a Vice & Virtue craft beer or local Okanagan wine, and the in-house chef visits every table throughout the night, creating a personalized experience that can also accommodate dietary restrictions.
For a completely different brewpub experience, The Hatching Post executes its Western theme well, with a saloon-style interior and exterior that feels authentic rather than kitschy. This brewery and smokery in West Kelowna serves traditional Texas BBQ with an assortment of house-made dips and sides, along with small-batch craft brews. The Hatching Post frequently hosts events and live music, so you can turn a meal into an evening out.

Brunch, Bakeries & Desserts Around the Okanagan

We take great pride in our food, but we also keep it easy-breezy here in the Okanagan, and these brunch, bakery, and dessert spots embody those two sides of Kelowna perfectly.
The word bliss is in the name for a reason. Bliss Bakery & Bistro in Peachland fills its pastry cases with a wide variety of sweet treats, as well as sourdough breads and pastries lovingly made in-house with real ingredients. The care that goes into their laminated dough makes for crispy, buttery croissants, like the new Blisstachio Rose Croissant. Inside, you’ll feel right at home having a spot of breakfast or lunch in this cozy and warm atmosphere, and outside, the view of Okanagan Lake from the patio will blow you away.
Jumping back over to Downtown Kelowna, Sunny's Modern Diner delivers a diner experience that’s simultaneously contemporary and nostalgic. A couple of their signature dishes—Chicks on a Raft and Chicken Meets Waffle—were featured on Food Network Canada’s “Big Food Bucket List,” proving that Sunny's appeal extends beyond the local brunch crowd.
And no Okanagan foodie day is complete without dessert. Parlour Ice Cream makes premium ice cream with locally-sourced ingredients, and the Downtown Kelowna menu has year-round, seasonal, vegan, and gluten-free flavours, so everyone can indulge in a cone or dive spoon-first into a pint.

Winery Dining Experiences in Wine Country

Of course, we have plenty of excellent Wine Spots in Kelowna and the Okanagan, but lingering over a meal among the vines, or next to a jaw-dropping lake view, is where the magic really happens.
Lake Country is where you’ll find BLOCK ONE Restaurant at 50th Parallel Estate Winery, where every sip and dish makes you feel one with the Okanagan. The unique cantilevered design of the building gives you insight into what Executive Chef Ryan Harney has in store for you: unexpected (water buffalo tartare, for example) and elevated wood-fired dishes.
Home Block Restaurant at CedarCreek Estate Winery in Kelowna's Mission also uses a wood-fired grill to bring Okanagan ingredients to life. While the restaurant itself is undeniably upscale, Chef Neil Taylor's wine-driven menu creates the warmth of a dinner party hosted by a very talented friend. The contrast between the winery's ultra-modern architecture and its rustic menu is part of the charm of this place.
Over at Old Vines Restaurant at Quails’ Gate Winery in West Kelowna, the experience is relaxed and timeless. As one of the Okanagan's longest-running winery restaurants, Old Vines has perfected the art of pairing exceptional food and wine to create a warm and romantic experience. Dine on their wine-led menu with local, farm-to-table ingredients overlooking the vineyard and Okanagan Lake. It’s a classic for a reason.
Or if you’re craving an experience that is luxurious and grand, Mission Hill Family Estate Winery’s The Terrace Restaurant is it. While almost every winery restaurant in Kelowna has vineyard views, the property feels more like a Mediterranean palace with its bell tower, stone terraces, amphitheatre, and lake views. Locality, simplicity, and resourcefulness inspire every dish and celebrate seasonal ingredients from their estate garden and local farming partners. You can dine on the terrace overlooking the Okanagan Valley in the warmer season for lunch or dinner.
And if Mission Hill delivers on grandeur, Meadow Vista Bistro at Meadow Vista Honey Wines has undeniable charm. Mountains surround this honey farm and winery, where they serve farm-fresh lunch fare al fresco, alongside house-made honey wines, creating a dining experience that’s whimsical and sweet.
Consider this your sign to stay for more than one glass and meal: this weekend wine getaway itinerary maps out the ultimate Okanagan wine country escape.
Elevated Dining & Date Night Spots in Kelowna
(1) Dishes from West Coast Seafood and Raw Bar, (2) Parisian-esque Patio at Bouchons Bistro, (3) Inside Erica Jane Restaurant, (4) A plate from 19 Okanagan Grill & Bar
Here are some elevated dining experiences in Kelowna for when you’re celebrating something special, or just want an excuse to dress up.
Equal parts polished and welcoming, Erica Jane in Downtown Kelowna has mastered the art of the modern night out. Come for the beautifully plated dishes and handcrafted cocktails, then stay for the live music and lively atmosphere.
Bouchons Bistro brings a touch of France to Kelowna. With its romantic courtyard, French-inspired menu, and thoughtfully selected Okanagan wines, this beloved bistro makes it easy to linger over dinner a little longer than planned.
Head to West Coast Seafood and Raw Bar at the Prestige Beach House for a more laid-back date night. It serves all your seafood faves and other easygoing dishes in a coastal-inspired dining room with an upscale yet homey beach house aesthetic. Stop in for happy hour to slurp fresh oysters and sip a cocktail.
For another smart-casual option that skips the white tablecloths, head to 19 Okanagan Grill & Bar at Two Eagles Golf Course in West Kelowna. The patio gives you golf course views and a distant glimpse of Okanagan Lake, while the menu covers everything from burgers and bowls to prime cuts and vegan dishes.
In the event that a dinner reservation simply won’t cut it, surprise your significant other by booking a cooking class at Lakehouse Kitchens Cooking School. Don an apron for date night and discover that making great food together can be just as fun as eating it.
Planning Tips for your Foodie Adventure
Most West Kelowna wineries and restaurants are a 15–20 minute drive from downtown Kelowna across the William R. Bennett Bridge. Lake Country sits about 25 minutes north, and Peachland is roughly 25–30 minutes south along Highway 97. Winery restaurants book up quickly on summer weekends, so reserve at least a few days ahead, and check seasonal hours before visiting during non-peak seasons.
