Applications are being accepted until March 1, 2024, for the new Rainforest to Rockies "Spark" Program, supporting the development of new tourism experiences along British Columbia’s Rainforest to Rockies corridors.
The program, which will provide successful applicants with mentorship for three months and $3,000 in seed funds to assist in developing and implementing their idea, is presented by Destination BC, in collaboration with the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association (TOTA), Kootenay Rockies Tourism, and Vancouver Coast & Mountains Tourism Region.
Who Can Apply?
Applicants must be based in British Columbia and fit in one of the following categories:
- Individuals 18+; OR
- A small business (new or existing) with fewer than 10 full-time year-round employees, OR
- A nonprofit organization, Indigenous community or other community group with fewer than 10 full-time year-round employees.
What is the Program Looking for?
New tourism ideas, specific to the Rainforest to Rockies corridors, that:
- Motivate travellers to stop their vehicles and explore a unique tourism experience along the Iconic Route.
- Motivate visitors to stay longer or visit more communities along the way.
- Address gaps in tourism products and services by offering something that does not yet exist or is in demand along the route or in the area.
- Share or convey captivating stories about the place, providing an opportunity for the visitor to connect with the destination in a meaningful way.

Application Process
