With just weeks remaining until Touchdown Kelowna, the largest sporting event in our destination's history, the local tourism and business community are preparing to welcome visitors from across the region.

To help the community get ready, Tourism Kelowna, the Downtown Kelowna Association (DKA), the Uptown Rutland Business Association (URBA), and the City of Kelowna teamed up to host an online industry briefing, providing key information and insights to support businesses and tourism operators ahead of the event.

During the webinar, Sarah Semeniuk, Event Services Supervisor for the City of Kelowna and Touchdown Kelowna Festival Chair, delivered a presentation outlining what businesses can expect throughout the nine-day festival. The presentation covered game-day information for the Apple Bowl, including parking and transportation recommendations, as well as details on the festival activations and entertainment planned for Waterfront Park.

The second part of the presentation, led by the DKA, Tourism Kelowna, and URBA, focused on official and practical ways for businesses to get involved with Touchdown Kelowna, from hosting events to creating fan-focused experiences.

Participants learned about several opportunities that are still available, including Corporate Packages designed for businesses looking to entertain clients, reward employees, or host partners during the event. These packages include access to festival and game-day experiences, as well as branding and sponsorship opportunities. Businesses interested in engaging directly with attendees can also take advantage of the remaining exhibitor and activation spaces within the Fan Fest area at Waterfront Park, providing an opportunity to showcase products, services, and experiences to thousands of visitors throughout the festival.

The presentation emphasized that the Touchdown Kelowna is about far more than the games themselves, encouraging local businesses to embrace the opportunity to engage, stand out, and benefit from the influx of visitors. They also introduced and walked attendees through a new online Business Playbook, a centralized hub of resources designed to make it easy for businesses to engage with the event.
