This fall, Tourism Kelowna and its local partners connected with meeting and conference planners in both Calgary and Montreal, hosting two dynamic client engagement events, in partnership with Venue Series, that brought the energy, expertise, and abundance of Kelowna’s business events community directly to two of our key markets.
In September, we hosted Calgary event planners for an interactive afternoon that buzzed with conversation and opportunity. Representatives from some of our program partners—50th Parallel Estate, Coast Capri Hotel, Eldorado Resort, Hyatt Place, Kelowna Ramada Hotel and Conference Centre, and Sandhill Wines—joined members of our team to showcase the best of Kelowna and the Central Okanagan during the fast-paced, “speed-dating” style event.

The following month, in Montreal, conversation and connection once again took centre stage as our Kelowna contingent welcomed clients from the business events sector for an engaging session highlighting Kelowna’s offerings and inspiring future opportunities. Using the same interactive format, clients met with members of our team and representatives from 50th Parallel Estate, Coast Capri Hotel, Delta Hotels by Marriott Grand Okanagan Resort, Eldorado Resort, and Four Points by Sheraton Kelowna Airport.

The conversations at each of these events opened doors to new possibilities and reinforced Kelowna’s position as a destination where experiences are shaped by collaboration, creativity, and connection to place.
Events like these are more than just productive afternoons of conversation, though. They play an essential role in strengthening the long-term health of Kelowna’s visitor economy, keeping our destination top of mind for future meetings and conferences, especially as we continue to build year-round visitation and strengthen our presence in key markets.
Through our partnership with Venue Series, which specializes in hosting invite-only events for planners, these client events generated more B2B engagement for our team and our Meeting Spots Program partners, while also helping to reduce attrition and reach new people who weren't already in our client database.
We extend our sincere thanks to the Venue Series team, our Calgary and Montreal clients, and to all our participating partners for their time, enthusiasm, and generosity. We look forward to continuing these meaningful conversations and welcoming more business events to Kelowna in the seasons ahead.
