2025 is gearing up to be an exciting year for major events in Kelowna starting with the return of the Montana’s Brier this February, after a 57-year hiatus. This year will also see the city host the 2025 CCMA Awards and Country Music Week, taking place September 10 to 13. Together, these two events are anticipated to generate over $25 million in economic impact.
The 2025 Montana’s Brier - taking place February 28 to March 9 - will welcome curling teams and fans from across the country to Prospera Place, which seats 6,886 spectators. The ten-day event will be broadcast nationally and expects to support 9,000 room nights bringing in an estimated $12 to $14 million in economic impact.
Country Music Week 2025 kicks off in Kelowna on Wednesday, September 10, offering fans the unique opportunity to celebrate the magic of country music and the genre’s brightest homegrown stars, all culminating with the 2025 CCMA Awards on September 13. The four-day event expects to draw more than 2,000 room nights and over $11 million in economic impact for the city and region. Tickets for the CCMA Award show broadcast are now sold-out; however, tickets to a wide range of Country Music Week events will be announced and released in the coming months.
“These major events are not only a driver for visitors but provide access to high quality entertainment for our residents and encourage local tourism,” says Tourism Kelowna President & CEO, Lisanne Ballantyne. “Visitors and locals can enjoy the festive atmosphere these events will bring to the community as they explore restaurants, eateries, coffee shops, breweries, wineries, and local attractions.”
"We're always so grateful to have such high calibre events take place in our community. We love to showcase our little corner of Kelowna to the world,” says Owner of BNA Brewing Co., Kyle Nixon. “These major events bring so many folks to the city at a time that might typically be a little slower downtown, and we and many of our fellow local operators are ready to welcome them!"
Tourism Kelowna’s Major Event Strategy works in collaboration with the City of Kelowna and local sports and event organizations to identify, bid on, and secure new major events that deliver high levels of economic impact to the community, particularly during soft tourism seasons. Most recently, the city was selected as host for the 2026 Memorial Cup.
“Events play an important role in the function of a community such as improving quality of life, increasing economic stimulus, providing shared experiences, and shaping a city’s identity,” says City of Kelowna Event Development Manager, Chris Babcock.
“It is for these reasons the City of Kelowna takes a proactive role in the development of events, which includes the procurement of major events such as the Montana’s Brier and 2025 CCMA Awards and Country Music Week"
