Emergency Preparedness Week kicked off yesterday, May 5, and runs through May 11, 2024. Emergency situations impact local businesses, residents, and visitors, potentially affecting or influencing those travelling or planning a trip to our province or region, so being prepared is vital.
Throughout this week, Destination BC will highlight the Tourism Emergency Management Committee's (TEMC) work, messaging, and resources, some of which you can access below:
- Updated emergency messaging guide and industry resources.
- New and updated Infographics.
- Updated water conservation guide with new drought portal.
- PreparedBC emergency guides and resources.
- Emergency communication guidance and plan template.
During emergency situations, it's extremely important to only share information from official, reliable sources. You'll also want to ensure your team members have access to these resources and are up-to-date on what's happening so they can keep your customers or guests informed.
Visit Tourism Kelowna's Safety & Emergency Preparedness webpage for a list of official sources.
