Fans and community members are invited to be part of history by helping deliver the 106th edition of one of hockey’s most storied events! The Canadian Hockey League (CHL), together with the Kelowna Rockets and the 2026 Memorial Cup Host Organizing Committee, have announced the launch of the Volunteer Program for the 2026 Memorial Cup presented by Kubota.

“Volunteers are the heartbeat of the Memorial Cup. Year after year, host communities rally to bring this championship to life — creating the experience that makes the Memorial Cup one of the most iconic events in hockey,” said Dan MacKenzie, CHL President. “As we look ahead to the culmination of the CHL’s 50th anniversary season, we’re proud to shine a light on the people behind the championship and invite the community to be part of this historic event.”

Each year, hundreds of volunteers power the Memorial Cup, welcoming teams and fans, supporting game operations, and bringing the host community’s championship experience to life. The 2026 Memorial Cup presented by Kubota will require approximately 450–500 volunteers, with opportunities available across a wide range of roles, including:

  • Hospitality
  • Security/Access Control
  • Accreditation
  • Fan Festival & Family Zone Activations
  • Transportation
  • Hockey Hall of Fame Support
  • Arrival of the Cup Parade & Welcome Celebration
  • Administration

Volunteers will have access to flexible, self-serve scheduling, with morning, afternoon, and evening shifts available throughout the tournament.

As the presenting partner of the Volunteer Program, Kubota will help recognize outstanding contributions through a Volunteer of the Day honour—featured in-game and on social—with the selected volunteer receiving a pair of game tickets during the 2026 Memorial Cup, celebrating the people who help make the event possible.

“When the Memorial Cup comes to town, it becomes a true community effort — and volunteers are what bring it to life,” said Steve Thomson, Co-Chair of the 2026 Memorial Cup Host Committee. “Kelowna has a proud tradition of stepping up for big moments, and this will be one of them. We’re excited to welcome volunteers who want to play a meaningful role behind the scenes and help showcase our community’s spirit throughout the tournament.”
