As a quieter season, November in Kelowna offers the coziness of fall and the anticipation of early winter. The air is crisp, the city is quieter, and it's an excellent opportunity to experience Kelowna’s food, beverage, arts, culture, entertainment, and wellness offerings like a local.
Discover why November is the best time to visit Kelowna (aside from summer!), and things to do in Kelowna this November.
Cozy Coffee Culture

One of many reasons to visit Kelowna in November is the city’s thriving coffee scene.
Many Kelowna coffee shops are also small-batch roasters. To name a few, Bean Scene Coffee Works is a local institution that’s been around since 2002, and Bright Jenny Coffee is known for its upbeat atmosphere and commitment to roasting with care.
For something a little different, stop by Catelowna Cat Café, where you can sip your beverage of choice in the company of a few friendly felines.
Of course, there’s nothing quite like a coffee and croissant for breakfast. Sprout Bread, Karat Chocolate, and Sandrine French Pastry & Chocolate all offer fresh croissants and other pastries, as well as specialty drinks to fuel your day.
Take November’s slower pace as an invitation to linger and enjoy your morning coffee, or soak in the last of the fall colours on a walk with a warm cup in hand.
Creative Arts and Entertainment

As the weather cools in November, Kelowna's arts, culture, and entertainment scene offers plenty of ways to stay inspired while keeping warm.
Kelowna Rockets games are a favourite local tradition. Catch a game at Prospera Place for an unforgettable night of hometown energy.
For comedy shows, concerts, plays and other live performances, check out what’s on at the Actors Studio and Dinner Theatre, Rotary Centre for the Arts, Kelowna Community Theatre, Red Bird Brewing, and Revelry Food + Music Hub.
Many of these venues are located in downtown Kelowna’s cultural district, which is also home to Kelowna Art Gallery, the Okanagan Wine and Orchard Museum, and the Okanagan Heritage Museum, making it easy to experience art, history, and an evening performance all in one day.
Don’t stop at downtown, though. Discover the rich culture outside the Cultural District, where you’ll find intimate performance venues and local galleries.

Looking for a handmade gift or something local for yourself? Kelowna holiday markets like Craft Culture have you covered. They take place throughout the city starting in November.
For a dose of sparkle, stop by the Tree of Hope Festival in the Landmark District, where the city gathers annually under one of Kelowna’s tallest illuminated trees.
You can also take in the Festival of Trees every year at Mission Hill Family Estate Winery and The Delta Hotels Grand Okanagan Resort, or explore Quails’ Gate Estate Winery’s Winter Wanderland, which transforms the vineyard into a festive marketplace with fire pits, mulled wine, and local vendors.
You won’t want to miss the Downtown Kelowna Winter Street Market & Light Up, a community celebration with live entertainment, skating, kids’ activities, and Santa sightings.
From twinkling lights to cherished traditions, Kelowna events in November will fill you with festive cheer.

Visiting Kelowna in November means you can pivot from exploring trails and looking for golden larches to strapping on your skis in the span of a week or two.
Early in the month, it still feels a bit like fall in Kelowna, so you can catch some autumn colours amid crisp days and cool evenings. Take this opportunity to enjoy fall hiking before the first snowfall, which usually happens mid to late November, or visit one of Kelowna’s viewpoints without the summer crowds.
In the last week of November, Big White Ski Resort and SilverStar Mountain Resort usually open, depending on the weather. Pack your skis or snowboard, or rent equipment on the mountain, and enjoy the first taste of winter on the slopes.
With average daytime highs of around 6°C in November, Kelowna’s weather and scenery invite you to throw on some warm layers and go for a peaceful outdoor adventure.
Local Tastings and Culinary Experiences

Kelowna was the first city in Canada to be designated a UNESCO City of Gastronomy for a good reason. Rooted in local agriculture and syilx traditions, the city’s food, wine and craft beverage scene celebrates creativity and connection.
In November, Kelowna’s restaurants and tasting rooms offer a chance to savour the Okanagan’s award-winning vintages in a quieter, more intimate setting and to connect with the people pouring and serving them.
Book a tasting or tour at one or more of Kelowna’s 40 wineries, from lakeside estates to family-run vineyards. Beyond wine, the local craft beverage scene is equally worth sampling. Visit a few of the breweries, cideries, and distilleries to sip crisp orchard cider, small-batch spirits, and creative local brews.
If you like the idea of touring several wineries or breweries in a single day and having someone else handle the itinerary and transport, one of Kelowna's guided tour companies, such as Vivid Tours or Cheers! Okanagan Tours and Transportation can help.
Speaking of tours, if you’re more of a foodie, a guided food tour is a great way to sample local flavours. Join A Taste of Kelowna Food Tours or Okanagan Foodie Tours to learn firsthand about Kelowna’s culinary character.
November’s quieter atmosphere gives you time to savour and talk to the people behind the food.

November naturally invites warmth, reflection, and rest, and Kelowna is a beautiful destination to recharge.
Kelowna has a wide range of wellness experiences. Try the full heat–cold–relax cycle at Löyly Floating Sauna or Floating Sweat Lodge on Okanagan Lake, step into Canada’s first snow room at Cleopatra’s Rituals Thermal Spa and Steam, sit in a salt cave at Room + Pillar Spa, or unwind in a Finnish-style sauna at Amour Mio Sauna.
With the air turning cool and the busy holiday season almost upon us, there’s no better time to warm up and unwind.
