Sandrine was born and raised in France, in the Beaujolais area, near Lyon. Her family has been in the baking and pasty for four generations.
After studying management and working as a consultant for start-up businesses, she decided to have a complete career change and entered the pastry industry. Keeping things in the family Sandrine trained at her cousins pastry and chocolate shop as well as in Parisian culinary schools. She has been operating in the Okanagan since 2004 where her and her husband Pierre-Jean opened “La Boulangerie Gourmet Cafe Ltd”, specializing in bread, pastry and savory items.
In 2010, they opened Sandrine French Pastry and Chocolate, a smaller shop specializing in cakes, macaron’s and chocolates. Sandrine offers Pastry classes and hands-on workshops where small groups of no more than 6 learn how to bake French cakes and desserts from scratch. Classes are 3 hours in length and participants make 3 different items, a variety of different class types are available and they come in at $95/person with all items made taken home to enjoy!
