Kelowna’s coffee scene keeps growing, with plenty of new spots to discover. From newcomers to long-standing staples with new locations, here are 7 cafés where you can sip and snack all summer long.
Bright Jenny Coffee Roasters
From its beginnings as a coffee truck serving up java at the Kelowna Farmers’ & Crafters’ Market, Bright Jenny Coffee Roasters is set for some exciting changes. While its first café location on Laurel Avenue is set to close in July, Bright Jenny will continue serving its locally roasted coffee at three cafés: its existing Kirschner Road location, recently opened Glenmore location, and forthcoming Lakeshore Road café. Light fare and sweet treats will complement your drink order!
CeCe’s Coffee
Kelowna’s newest curated coffee experience, CeCe’s Coffee—having celebrated their grand opening on June 25—is an expansion and new concept from Calgary-based Crave Cupcakes. This inviting café, located within Kelowna’s Northend, will be serving up from-scratch baked goods (including the cupcakes that Calgarians have raved about for 20 years) alongside Monogram Coffee. Take a seat in the bright, airy space and indulge in a sweet (or savoury) treat as you explore Kelowna.
Deville Coffee
After opening its first Kelowna location along Bernard Avenue in 2021, Deville Coffee has recently expanded with a second location along Lakeshore Road, across from Boyce-Gyro Beach Park. Along with Deville’s Signature Cold Brew, fun summer drink options include Earl Grey Lemonade and Blueberry Mojito Matcha. You can't go wrong by pairing them with baked goods like cookies, scones, muffins, and the ever-popular cronuts.
Komorebi Café
This nature-themed Japanese café—decorated with lots of live plants and shades of green throughout—specializes in matcha drinks, including iced options perfect to beat the summer heat. Komorebi Cafe and Healing Art Studio also serves up rotating dessert specials (past options have included Matcha Tiramisu, Yuzu Mousse Cake, and Strawberry Green Tea Cheesecake). They recently added vegan, gluten-free soft serve ice cream to the menu, used to craft Japanese parfaits and float selections. Yum!
Sandrine French Pastry & Chocolate
Building on its more than 20-year reputation in Kelowna, Sandrine French Pastry & Chocolate recently opened a second location along Lakeshore Road. Loaded with greenery and quaint seating, the outdoor patio provides the perfect setting to savour delectable French treats. One of the newest menu items sure to be a hit for the summer is Sandrine’s French gelato served in freshly baked croissants—pints of the gelato are also available to beat those late-night cravings!
The Baker’s Corner
Get your fix of locally roasted Giobean coffee at The Baker’s Corner, located along Hwy 97 in the Kelowna Events Centre. Along with their delicious bakery fare, the café is also serving up brunch on the weekends, with delectable options like lobster hash, blueberry hollandaise bennies, and croissant French toast. The menu will satisfy your taste buds, while the bright interior and fun décor, including a real lemon tree, will bring a smile to your face, too!
