Towards the end of November, Tourism Kelowna participated in a virtual training session for Jonview Canada, one of the country's largest business-to-business receptive tour operators.

The virtual session was coordinated by Destination BC's (DBC) Market Development team, providing two days of training for Jonview's nationwide staff. DBC collaborated with 13 organizations, including regional and city DMOs, to create Team BC for the event. As with the other participating DMOs, Tourism Kelowna developed a 4-minute presentation highlighting some of the region's suppliers and showcasing one of its destination videos.

"We were delighted to be part of Team BC for this valuable event," says Tourism Kelowna's Director of Business Development, Nikki Robinson. "This training session with Jonview allowed us to expand beyond the markets we service regularly, providing an overview of Kelowna suppliers that can support Jonview's clients."

The Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association (TOTA) regularly represents Kelowna and the Central Okanagan as part of its work in the travel trade space. At the same time, Tourism Kelowna's team focuses its efforts on securing business from domestic and select US markets. This training session allowed Tourism Kelowna to extend its reach into the travel trade space.

Jonview's primary markets are Europe, the South Pacific, and Japan. As noted on the company's website, Jonview's mission is to be "Canada’s leader in creating exceptional holiday experiences for global travellers, delivered responsibly by an inspired and innovative team."
