The rhythm of Canada’s country music scene has officially arrived in Kelowna as Country Music Week 2025 kicks off today. For the first time ever, the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) brings its flagship events, including the 2025 CCMA Awards presented by TD, to Kelowna from September 9 to 13, transforming the city into a stage for the brightest stars and rising talent in Canadian country music.

“On behalf of the entire host committee, I couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome the Canadian country music community to Kelowna this week,” says Jenn Dalen, Chair of the CCMA Local Host Committee. “Our city’s natural beauty, vibrant culture, and warm hospitality make it the perfect backdrop for a week of celebration!”

Country Music Week 2025 was secured in part through Tourism Kelowna's Major Events Strategy in partnership with the City of Kelowna. In addition to the marquis events, including the free CCMA Country Crawl powered by ATB Wealth that kicks off September 9, dozens of local businesses in Kelowna are also getting into the country spirit with themed events and offerings.

“Hosting the Canadian Country Music Awards is an incredible opportunity for Kelowna,” said Mayor Tom Dyas. “This event will generate a significant boost for local businesses—from hotels and restaurants to shops and tourism operators—while showcasing the spirit and hospitality of our community to fans from across the country. Kelowna is ready to welcome Canada’s country music community and celebrate together on the national stage.”

From waterfront stages to iconic theatres, starting today, the city will come alive with showcases, songwriting sessions, fan events, and live performances. The celebration culminates on Saturday, September 13, with the nationally televised CCMA Awards presented by TD at Prospera Place live on CTV, putting Kelowna’s charm and creative energy in the national spotlight.

“After many months of hard work behind the scenes, we are excited to welcome musicians and fans to Kelowna this week,” says Lisanne Ballantyne, President & CEO of Tourism Kelowna. “Events like Country Music Week are so important because, in addition to bringing amazing performances to venues across the city, they strengthen community connections, inspire pride in our city, and create lasting memories for both residents and visitors alike. They also deliver a meaningful economic boost during the shoulder season, supporting local businesses and showcasing Kelowna’s capacity to host major national events year-round.”

The event is forecasted to deliver more than 2,000 room nights and generate over $11 million in economic impact, with fans and industry members arriving from across Canada. When paired with the Montana’s Brier held in March, Kelowna’s 2025 shoulder season major events will have infused over $25 million into the local economy.

“Canadian Country Music Week is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the incredible talent we have right here in British Columbia,” says Anne Kang, Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport. “From emerging voices to established stars, B.C. artists are making an impact on Canada’s music scene. Our province is proud to host this national celebration in Kelowna—a city that truly embodies the spirit of creativity, innovation and community.”

Country Music Week 2025 brings the full experience: a music festival, industry conference, and awards gala, all rooted in celebration and community. Visitors will be invited not just to attend the shows, but to explore all that Kelowna has to offer. For more information about events and tickets, visit ccma.org and tourismkelowna.com.
