Kelowna is made up of several distinct neighbourhoods and communities, all of which add something uniquely their own to Kelowna's vibe. This Guide to the neighbouring communities of Glenmore and Dilworth is part of a series designed to give you an overview of the places you can discover when you #exploreKelowna.


Glenmore & Dilworth

The neighbouring communities of Glenmore and Dilworth are centrally located in Kelowna, nestled between downtown and the main throughfare in the city, Hwy 97. There are a number of things to see and do in these neighbourhoods, which also provide easy access to other parts of Kelowna thanks to Glenmore Drive, Enterprise Way, and Dilworth Drive.

Open since the summer of 2020, Hyatt Place Kelowna is one of the city's newest hotel properties, located along Glenmore Road just north of Hwy 97. In addition to nicely appointed rooms, Hyatt Place has a seasonal rooftop patio where you can enjoy small bites, cocktails, and local wines. 

Further west, right along Hwy 97, you'll find Ramada by Wyndham Kelowna Hotel & Conference Centre and Sandman Hotel & Suites Kelowna, which sit next to each other across from Orchard Park Shopping Centre. The Sandman features three on-site dining options, including a 24-hour Denny's location, while the Ramada has a pub and restaurant onsite, too. 

Those who are looking for budget-friendly accommodations can consider the Dilworth Inn Kelowna or Recreation Inn & Suites, both of which welcome pets and offer kitchenette suites. The Recreation Inn also has a family suite and an apartment suite, in case you need more space or are booking a longer stay. 

If you prefer a more intimate accommodation option, there are also a couple of B&B options in the area. A Touch of English Bed & Breakfast is nestled on a quiet street in between Knox Mountain and Glenmore Drive—the afternoon tea and homemade scones are an added delight! On the east side of Glenmore, set in the hills near Dilworth Mountain, you'll find A Vista Villa Couples Retreat, catering specifically to couples looking for a romantic escape. 

Other accommodations in the area include:

  • Apple Valley Orchard & RV Park, which offers mostly pull-through RV sites with 30 or 50 amp power, along with water and sewer hookups.
  • UBC's Okanagan Campus, which has more than 500 rooms available from mid-May to mid-August, providing a budget-friendly options for large groups, sports teams, and families. 
  • Additional hotel properties along Hwy 97, heading north towards the airport.

Food & Drink

Extended Stays - Food - Cider
Scenic Road Cider Co.

If you venture just east of Glenmore Road, you'll find Scenic Road Cider Co., a family-run cidery set on an apple orchard in North Glenmore. You can sip on some handcrafted cider surrounded by apple trees, which The tasting room is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Friday (stay tuned to their website for details on extended hours as the season progresses). 

For those who love baked goods, Glenmore is home to both Specialty Bakery, creator of the Kelownut (a delicious croissant-donut hybrid), and Tripke Bakery— both bakeries have been operating in Kelowna since 1983. 

There are a number of sushi restaurants in the area—Dozo House, Kaede Sushi, and O-Zeki Japanese Restaurant to name a few—as well as numerous casual and takeout options, including:

  • Basil Leaf Asian Fusion Restaurant, which brings together a number of cuisines. 
  • Brandt’s Creek Pub for a 19+ spot serving up classic pub fare. 
  • Flip Flops & Hops Eatery, which serves up an array of items in its fun, bright space. 
  • O-Machi, which prepares authentic Taiwanese cuisine.
  • Red Tomato Pies, which originally launched in Williams Lake and has since expanded across Western Canada. 
  • Satang Thai Cuisine for flavourful lunch or dinner eats. 

Moxies Kelowna, Milestones, White Spot, and several other well-known chain restaurants are all nearby, too.


Arts & Culture

On the north end of Dilworth, you'll find Geert Maas Sculpture Gardens and Gallery, which features more than 350 pieces of art created by internationally acclaimed artist, Geert Maas. 

While other arts and culture options within Glenmore / Dilworth are limited, because of the central location of the neighbourhoods, there is a lot to choose from nearby. Refer to the Downtown Kelowna, North End, and the Airport District guides to see what else is nearby. 


Parks & Outdoor Space

As with most Kelowna neighbourhoods, the outdoor spaces and parks are abundant in and around Glenmore and Dilworth.

Dilworth Mountain Park offers an easy hiking option that will reward you with expansive views of the area, perfect for exquisite sunset views. Closer to downtown, Knox Mountain Park offers a variety of trails, from easy to moderate, many of which are shared with mountain bikers. Nearby Blair Pond Park will host Park and Play events in July 2025.

Parkinson Recreation Park has a number of outdoor amenities, including a playground, pickleball and tennis courts, community gardens, and more. You may notice some construction in the area over the next couple of years, as the City of Kelowna completes its redevelopment of the adjacent Parkinson Recreation Centre

Alongside the park, you'll find the Okanagan Rail Trail, which runs from downtown Kelowna to the Kelowna International Airport (then resumes north of Kelowna in Lake Country).
