Our Community & Visitor Engagement team delivers its mobile visitor services throughout the region, connecting with both visitors and locals at major events and community gatherings to showcase the best of Kelowna. Our team also hosts events at the Kelowna Visitor Centre, creating valuable opportunities for guests to connect through memorable shared experiences.

Here's a glimpse at what the team has been up to so far in 2025.

Supporting the Community

Our mobile visitor services team represents Tourism Kelowna in the wider community, providing exceptional service to residents and visitors, and increasing the visibility of our team. By attending the following community events this year, our team connected with nearly 3,000 people:

Okanagan Wine Fest TASTE Series UBCO Career Fair
CAN Ride for Autism Kelowna Pride Festival
UBCO CSHS & CSA Conference Kelowna Ribfest
YLW Golf Tournaments Cabin 5 Granola Campsite Pop-Up
Argus Apple Triathlon / Marathon Kelowna Made
Kelowna Hockey Fest UBCO Jump Start Move-In
KCR Volunteer Fair YLW Fall Travel Show

While attending these events, our team provides recommendations for attractions, events, businesses, and transportation throughout Kelowna and its surrounding communities. These events often present a fun opportunity to connect with the crowd through interactive activations, such as giveaways or games. The smiles and energy from participants are always the best reward, and a reminder of why these moments matter.

Attending Major Events & Conferences

This year, Kelowna hosted two major events: the 2025 Montana's Brier and CCMA Country Music Week 2025. With the support of both Tourism Kelowna team members and volunteers, we provided mobile visitor services at both events:

  • Over the course of the 10-day Brier, we were stationed inside and outside of Prospera Place, connecting with approximately 500 attendees.
  • During Country Music Week, we were stationed in the conference centre at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Grand Okanagan Resort, connecting with 1,000 of the industry conference attendees.

In addition to creating an undeniable energy throughout our region, these major events also generate a significant impact on our local economy.

Activating the Kelowna Visitor Centre

It is well known that the Kelowna Visitor Centre is a valuable resource for visitors and a community hub for locals, where our team shares their wealth of knowledge about the region. But what may be less well known is that the centre is also a great event venue!

So far this year, we've hosted a variety of activations—here are a few notable examples:

  • During the lead up to CCMA Country Music Week, we hosted Boots N’ Beers on our lakeside patio, with local country artist, Timmy Rhyno, performing and Kelowna Beer Institute pouring samples—we welcomed 2,500 people to the Kelowna Visitor Centre on this one day!
  • Our team welcomed staff from other Visitor Centres in the region, hosted giveaways, and provided a discount on select merchandise for Love for Kelowna Day and World Tourism Day.
  • Local businesses, such as Quails' Gate Winery, Tantalus Vineyards, Intrigue Winery, and Railside Brewing, set up at the centre to showcase the best of Kelowna by offering complimentary tastings.

Looking Ahead

Looking ahead to the remainder of the year, our mobile visitor services team will once again participate in the Downtown Kelowna Association's Winter Street Market.

We are also looking forward to using our venue space for a creative hands-on workshop on October 11 as part of Nuit Blanche Kelowna, followed by a charm workshop hosted by one of our local vendors, Jan from Adorables Studio, on November 23.

Our participation in these events would not be possible without the support of our fantastic staff, volunteers, partners, and the broader community. The opportunities we have had to deepen connections within the area and showcase all that Kelowna has to offer are part of enhancing the overall visitor experience in our destination.

I’m proud to be part of such a meaningful and enjoyable process, and I know both myself and the team are excited about what lies ahead in 2025 and beyond.
