This week, as a tie-in with the award-winning OKGo campaign, our team hosted a client event at Vancouver's VanDusen Botanical Gardens. Paynter's Fruit Market Owner and Operator, Jennay Oliver—who is featured as one of the OKGo agriculture sector success stories—led the event, guiding attendees through an exclusive herb gardening workshop, which resulted in a personal herb garden they could take home.

Vancouver Client Event 7

We hosted a group of more than 20 clients and meeting planners at the event, educating them about Kelowna's agricultural roots and showcasing how our region's esteemed resorts, wineries, off-site venues, and innovative business ecosystem can elevate their next business event. The sun-filled morning included breakfast courtesy of Truffles Fine Foods Catering and an array of prizes, including wine, hotel stays, and a Lomi countertop composter donated by Pela, another OKGo success story and campaign ambassador.

Thanks to our amazing Meetings & Conference Program partners from  Coast Capri HotelDelta Hotels by Marriott Grand Okanagan Resort, Eldorado Resort, Mission Hill Family Estate (Iconic Wineries of BC) Ramada Kelowna Hotel & Conference Centre, and Summerhill Pyramid Winery, who joined us in Vancouver for the event.

Vancouver Client Event 8

Events like this most recent one in Vancouver are part of our economic sector strategy (ESS), which aligns with Destination Canada Business Events' ESS, to attract meetings and conferences. The ESS evolved further in early 2021 with the launch OKGo, a collaborative project created through a partnership between the Central Okanagan Economic Development Commission, Accelerate Okanagan, and Tourism Kelowna.

If you have any questions about the OKGo campaign or regarding future events you may want to host, please contact our team at meetings@tourismkelowna.com.
