We're ready to welcome the more than 1,500 Indigenous youth athletes from across British Columbia who will travel to Kelowna next week for the 2025 Jr. All Native Basketball Tournament (JANT).

JANT is BC’s largest youth basketball tournament and promotes wellness, sportsmanship, leadership, and Nation Pride amongst First Nations youth. Recently held in Terrace (2024) and Nanaimo (2018), the tournament sees First Nations teams comprised of high school/middle school athletes at the 17U age groups compete for the First Nation Provincial Championship title while representing their home, nation, and community.

The influx of athletes, coaches, families, and fans means increased visitation to Kelowna during what is typically a quieter tourism season. While each team will play at least three games at venues throughout Kelowna and Westbank First Nation, they will have plenty of time to explore and experience Kelowna during their stay.

The tournament will welcome over 2,500 visitors, generating significant hotel room nights, restaurant patronage, and retail spending. We invite all members of the Kelowna community to join us in extending a warm welcome to these visitors.
