The IMPACT Sustainability Travel & Tourism Conference returns in person for 2022, taking place in Victoria from January 23 – 26, with a robust agenda covering a wide variety of topics.

The three-day conference, which is presented by a partnership between Destination Greater VictoriaSynergy EnterprisesTartan Bond, and Starrboard Enterprises, seeks to "drive, inspire and demonstrate innovative and collaborative sustainable solutions for positive tourism development across Canada." This is even more important in the years to come, as the tourism industry looks to move towards further recovery, restart, and ultimately growth amidst an ongoing array of global health and climate emergencies.

Conference sessions will cover topics including:

  • Climate change
  • Innovation and clean tech
  • Reconciliation and decolonization
  • Regenerative tourism

The IMPACT Conference provides an opportunity to further your business or organization's work and to gain knowledge specific to the travel and tourism industry. Sustainable, responsible travel continues to be important to industry stakeholders, as well as residents and travellers in destinations around the world. In recent surveys, for example, 86.2% of Kelowna residents and 88% of Tourism Kelowna stakeholders confirmed that sustainable, responsible tourism development is important to them.

The full agenda and registration information can be found on the conference website.

In adherence to the Provincial Health Officer order relating to proof of vaccination, all attendees must provide proof that they are fully vaccinated with two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to attend the conference and its related activities.
