As the temperature continue to rise, you can stay cool this summer with an array of sips and snacks from cafés, wineries, and shops in and around Kelowna. Think frozen drinks, delectable ice cream creations, chill-inducing concoctions, and more—these local favourites are your invitation to taste summer at its most refreshing.

Frozen and Iced Drinks

The frozen and iced drink category is constantly expanding, thanks to new trends and creative folks who dream up cool sips, like the ones you’ll find in Kelowna.

Cool Treats

Finding cool treats to beat the summer heat is a must when visiting Kelowna, and these local establishments make it a delicious adventure at the same time.

Creative Blends

Find decadent drinks that blend ingredients you might regularly indulge in on their own at these Kelowna spots.

  • Love affogato? Head to Amore Mio Gelato for an Espresso Affogato, made with their artisanal gelato, or try the Matcha Affogato from Komorebi Café, made with vegan, gluten-free soft serve.
  • Indulge in the Brown Sugar Oreo Cheesecake blended drink, complete with chewy popping pearls, from Milk & Sugar Bubble Tea Café.
  • Visit Sweet Streams food truck to choose from an array of Dirty Soda concoctions—a brick & mortar location of the shop is currently in the works, set to open in the late summer.

Screamers

Half slushie, half soft serve ice cream (or whatever ratio of the two your heart desires), Screamers are a fun and delicious summer treat! Although they didn’t originate in Kelowna—sources say they were first spotted at Mr. G’s convenience stores in Prince George—Screamers can be found in several area convenience stores and shops, including:

  • One Stop in downtown Kelowna, Rutland, and across the highway from Kelowna International Airport
  • Most of the Circle K locations in the region
  • Sonic Wash Express in West Kelowna
