Planning

While in the planning phase, we can assist you with the following:

• Bid development and design. 
• Grant writing and funding applications assistance.
• Hotel and venue selection. 
• Venue and destination site visits.
• Building connections with local sports organizations.
• Liaising with Provincial and/or National sports organizations, 
• Identifying resources and/or contacts for the event and off-site services, including transportation & parking, equipment rentals, insurance, traffic management, first aid, safety and security, etc. 

Thanks to our community’s collaborative nature and our team’s well-established relationships, we can also connect you with local businesses to assist with other facets of planning your event and help to make it unforgettable. 

Execution

While the bulk of our support extends to the planning phase, there are also several ways we can support your event once you’ve touched down in Kelowna:

• Organizing a welcoming station at the Kelowna International Airport for VIP athletes or guests.
• Having our Community & Visitor Engagement team set up a mobile visitor centre onsite during registration or throughout the event to provide service to event attendees.
• Providing resources and information on things to do and see while in Kelowna, customized to the time of year that your event is taking place.
• Helping source souvenirs/gifts for athletes, coaches, or other attendees.
