Kelowna, B.C. – The Board of Directors of Tourism Kelowna today announced that Lisanne Ballantyne will be stepping down from her role as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective March 27, 2026.

After more than eight years leading the organization, Ms. Ballantyne made the decision to resign following careful consideration and consultation with the Board. During her tenure, Tourism Kelowna has achieved significant milestones in elevating Kelowna’s reputation as one of Canada’s premier tourism destinations, strengthening industry partnerships, and fostering a thriving year-round visitor economy.

Under her leadership, the new Kelowna Visitor Centre was built and now welcomes more than 250,000 guests annually; a new Sports & Major Events bid program was established, successfully attracting major events such as the Canadian Country Music Awards and the Memorial Cup; Kelowna was named Canada’s first and only UNESCO City of Gastronomy; and overseeing an award-winning team that help to grow the Central Okanagan’s $2.4 billion tourism and hospitality economy.
