As spring quickly approaches and another post-secondary term nears its close, now is the time for local tourism and hospitality businesses to consider their human resource (HR) needs for the remainder of 2024.
go2HR recently hosted a session showcasing the services and resources they offer. The organization operates the largest tourism and hospitality-specific job board in the province; it is the perfect place to get your jobs in front of those looking to join the industry.
Recently, go2HR added free HR advisory services to its offerings here in the Thompson Okanagan. In addition to providing HR advice and policy audits, go2HR can advise on topics including:
- Recruitment strategy and planning
- Onboarding and employee retention
- Equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI)
- Psychological health and safety (in partnership with the Canadian Mental Health Association)
In addition to HR advisory services, go2HR offers various training in areas such as customer service, health and safety, EDI, and more. Tourism Kelowna recently used documents from go2HR’s EDI resource section to update some of our organization's internal policies.
Our team has worked closely with go2HR's Regional Specialist for the Thompson Okanagan, Ginger Brunner, many times; we recommend that tourism and hospitality employers in and around Kelowna contact her about their HR needs, including recruitment.
Ginger can be reached at gbrunner@go2hr.ca or (250) 469-1032.
