Our Community & Visitor Engagement team recently wrapped up another successful summer season of proudly delivering mobile visitor services for the District of Lake Country.

Between June 7 and September 15, our incredible team members—including Morgan Korbatoff, Jarryd Grant, Marianne Wong, and Sofia Sulentich—actively assisted over 1,000 people, helping visitors create personalized and memorable experiences and offering locals recommendations of areas they hadn't yet visited or businesses they may not have previously discovered.

This year, we planned set locations on certain days throughout the season, which were promoted through the District of Lake Country's social media channels, resulting in a 45% increase in engagement.

Each Friday, our team was active at the weekly Farmers' Market, promoting community pride by selling Lake Country merchandise. On Saturday, they became familiar faces as they took e-bikes up and down the Okanagan Rail Trail, handing out water bottles and freezies. Sunday locations remained on rotation, with the most traffic observed at Pebble Beach and Kaloya Regional Park.

One notable change this year, compared to last, is a significant increase in the average length of stay. Of those visitors surveyed in 2024, 40% were staying in the region for 2 nights, while in 2025, 32% of those surveys noted they were staying 4-6 nights. This means that many visitors are staying longer and travelling more within the Central Okanagan. Inquiries about maps/directions and attractions continued to be the top queries; however, interest in parks and agri-tourism saw a nearly 60% uptick.

While interests may shift from year to year, the desire to visit the Central Okanagan remains strong, and we’re here to connect those visitors with you, the businesses that make our region so special, and your team members, who are always ready and eager to share their love of the community.

About Tourism Kelowna's Partnership with the District of Lake Country

In April 2022, Tourism Kelowna was selected to pilot mobile visitor services for the District of Lake Country. Running from mid-May through September, the pilot brought our team into high-traffic areas—from beaches and parks to events and local attractions—to connect directly with both residents and visitors.

Building on that successful start, our partnership with the District of Lake Country has continued, guided by a shared commitment to sustainable tourism, enriching visitor experiences, and strengthening the local economy. Our team is proud to help tell Lake Country’s story and showcase the many uniquely Okanagan experiences that make the district such a vibrant place to explore.
