November 8 & 11

On November 8, Indigenous Veterans' Day, and November 11, Remembrance Day, we collectively pause to honour those who have served our country and to remember those who lost their lives in service. Locals or visitors to the region can join the remembrance ceremonies outlined below. 

 

Kelowna's annual Field of Crosses memorial project opens in City Park on Sunday, November 2, 2025, with a ceremony at the Cenotaph set to begin at 1 p.m.

Westbank First Nation (WFN) will be hosting a public remembrance ceremony in honour of Indigenous Veterans' Day on November 7, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the WFN Cenotaph (1900 Quail Lane).

On November 11, 2025, Remembrance Day ceremonies will take place throughout the region:

  • Kelowna
    • City Park Cenotaph | Approximate timing: Pre-ceremony Parade at 10:45 a.m., Ceremony from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Post-ceremony parade at 11:30 a.m.
    • Rutland Lion's Park Cenotaph | Service takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • West Kelowna
    • Royal Lepage Place | Honour parade at 10 a.m., Ceremony from 10:45 to 12 p.m.
  • Lake Country
    • George Elliot Secondary School Gymnasium | Ceremony begins at 11 a.m., please be seated by 10:30 a.m.
  • Peachland
    • Cenotaph Park | Ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m.
