Exploring the nearly 40 wineries in Kelowna and surrounding areas is something all wine lovers should do at least once. Nestled in the heart of Canada's most vibrant wine region, the Okanagan Valley, the vineyards in Kelowna, Lake Country, and West Kelowna grow cool climate varietals like Pinot Noir, Reisling, Chardonnay and more, creating exciting wines paired with memorable experiences. With everything from rural, family-run wineries to urban tasting rooms to magnificent estate vineyards, visiting wineries in person will ensure you have the best selection when tasting and purchasing to take home with you.
The region's reputation for producing crisp whites, and complex reds, with a burgeoning number of organic wineries, speaks to the commitment to quality and innovation. Not only that, Kelowna holds a significant place in British Columbia's winemaking history, with the province's first vines taking root here. In addition, Kelowna is home to the province’s oldest continually operating winery Sandhill Winery, which was established as Calona Wines in 1932.
