In addition to providing service to visitors and locals, our Community & Visitor Engagement team regularly hosts activations at the Kelowna Visitor Centre. The team also travels in and around Kelowna, providing mobile visitor services at numerous community events. Read on to discover what we've been up to over the past month!

Kelowna Visitor Centre Activations

The Kelowna Visitor Centre (KVC) has become a valued community hub used by locals and visitors seeking information on what to do and see around Kelowna. Our team hosts various activations throughout the year to support the community and further showcase local businesses, artists, and artisans.

Here's a look at what went on at the KVC in June:

  • Our team celebrated National Indigenous History Month with an on-site activation at the KVC to showcase the work of local artisans Nancy Luis of Aboriginal Creeations and Indigenous Artists, Greta Reid, and Justine Allison.
  • For Father's Day, Cabin 5 Granola joined us at the KVC for a special tasting activation.
  • We collaborated with the Downtown Kelowna Association to host Downtown After 5, with an added focus on celebrating 2025 Montana's Brier and Country Music Week 2025. Close to 300 people attended the event.
  • At the end of the month, we celebrate the KVC's 6th birthday, sharing cake with community members and visitors who visited that day.

Community Events

To expand our reach and show support for the community, our team travels throughout the Central Okanagan, engaging with locals and visitors at many well-known events.

Here is an overview of the events our team supported in June:

  • In addition to having some of our team members walk in the Pride March, we also had a booth set up at the Kelowna Pride Festival, where we connected with approximately 200 attendees. One of our volunteers, Heidi Adhofer, elevated the fun by offering face painting.
  • We were set up at the Apple Bowl for the Canadian Premier League's On Tour Series soccer game, which saw record attendance.
  • We kicked off our third year of providing mobile visitor services to the District of Lake Country.
  • Our mobile visitor centre was also set up at:
    • GoByBike Week celebration stations at Stuart Park, Railside Brewery, and Swalwell Park.
    • Kelowna Wine Country Half Marathon.
    • YLW Golf Classic Tournament at The Okanagan Golf Club.
    • CSN Father's Day Car Show.

You can find our team at the Kelowna Farmers' & Crafters' Market on July 13 and 27, and at the DKA Block Party on July 20.
