Commitment to Stewardship

Stewardship means caring for our community and its people, protecting our region's natural beauty, and contributing positively to the local economy so current and future generations can prosper.

As an organization, Tourism Kelowna is committed to stewardship and promotes sustainable tourism to help preserve the environment, support local businesses, and ensure Kelowna remains a great place to live and visit for many years.

Our Definition of Stewardship

The careful and responsible management of the environmental, social, and economic impacts of tourism in the Central Okanagan.

Our Stewardship Pledge

We foster the preservation and continual restoration of the land, resources, and communities of the Central Okanagan. We continue to take action and make commitments to further diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in our work and in the region we support.

Our Stewardship Framework

The Stewardship Framework supplements our organization's Strategic Plan and focuses on Tourism Kelowna's organizational pillars of Seasonality, Destination Management, Internal Excellence, and External Engagement. It is used as the guiding document for organizational stewardship initiatives.
