Welcome to boundary brewing
Boundary Brewing Company is a nano sized, Oak-Kettle brewery located in Kelowna, BC specializing in German-style beers. We brew balanced craft beer in small batches in the only coopered oak-kettle system in Canada and one of a handful in the world. Supplying the Okanagan valley, Kootenays and if you are lucky further afield. Our goal is the make the best tasting interpretations of a multitude of German styles using local ingredients whenever possible.
Welcome to our brewery and we hope you enjoy the beers… and as always come and “Drink like a German. Prost!”
The Beer
Flagships
Altbier
5-5.5% ABV • 38 IBU • 15 SRM
A medium bodied Duesseldorf style copper ale is a deep copper coloured beer that pours with a thick creamy head on top of a balanced, malty ale rounded out with a delicate hops finish. A beer that, although full of flavour, does not linger on the palate and tastes much lighter than the colour would suggest. This beer is one of our mainstays available year-round and a great door opener to the world of craft beer for those afraid of the overhopped IPAs that make up many breweries initial offerings.
Roggenbier
5.5% ABV • 28 IBU • 8 SRM
A medium bodied German Rye Red Ale. This beer puts the rye malt forward, showcasing the delicate spicyness of the grain, with hints of caramel and roasted barley and perfectly balanced with a delicate herbal hops finish.
Hefeweizenbier
5% ABV • 10 IBU (30 IBU for Hopfenweizen) • 5 SRM (20 SRM for dunkelweizen)
A very traditional Bavarian style wheat beer. Using a traditional Bavarian wheat beer yeast strain, the beer bursts with banana and clove esters. Served with a slice of orange or lemon this is a weizenbier-drinkers Hefeweizenbier. We have occasional variations of the style in the Dunkelweizen (A dark wheat beer) and Hopfenweizen (a hoppier version on the original… very refreshing)
Baltic Porter
8-9.3% ABV • 29 IBU • 38 SRM
Our darkest beer. This strong, full bodied and flavourful ale has hints of Chocolate, coffee, roast barley, vanilla, caramel and figs on the nose and palate. After pouring is best to let settle and warm up for a couple of minutes to unlock all the delicate and complex flavours of this big beer… and at almost 9% you’re gonna wanna sit down to enjoy it all.
