Join Gord Hotchkiss with Giro Okanagan to learn about the origins of our community and our ties to the Okanagan/syilx people. This 10-minute video can be watched at your leisure and shares the story of how Kelowna got its name.

Pinot-People-Place: Happy Hour with 50th Parallel Estate!

Meet the Proprietors of 50th Parallel Estate; Curtis Krouzel and Sheri-Lee Turner-Krouzel and learn how they transformed a 61-acre cherry orchard into a world-class wine destination, complete with a tasting room, restaurant and over 10,000 square feet of event space to accommodate up to 300 people. Sheri-Lee and Curtis will be joined by Chef; Kai Koroll; Winemaker: Matthew Fortuna and Corporate Sales Director; Dana Crichton.

Morning Chair Stretch with Move Daily’s with Tracy Steen

8:00am PST (9:00am MST, 11:00am EST)

Tracy Steen with Move Daily Fitness will guide us through a stretching session to get the blood flowing and our day started right. With her Master of Arts in Counselling and personal training certification, Tracy will stress the importance of moving your fitness, nutrition and wellness daily. No equipment needed, you can energize and stretch out from the comfort of your chair. Check out her YouTube Channel and TikTok for additional workouts and tips.

Kettle Valley Railway’s WWII Efforts – The P9 Project

Take a moment, well actually 8 minutes, to explore the Kettle Valley Railway’s Myra Canyon, one of Canada’s National Historic Sites. A short drive from Kelowna, the KVR is one of our most popular off-site activities. Check out the spectacular views and learn from Gord how this unsuspecting railway almost played a key role in WWII.

 

The Unlikely Savior of Calona Wines 

The start of the wine industry in the Valley began with Calona Wines, but it almost didn’t happen. Gord tells us his final story about how the Catholic Church saved the winery and led to the Valley becoming the premier wine region of the province. Enjoy the final 7-minute video and learn why we can thank Father McKenzie for our wine tasting yesterday!

Perfect Pairing Virtual Tasting

Unwind over Okanagan Valley wine, online. Two of Kelowna’s major group destinations, Iconic Wineries of British Columbia and Delta Grand Okanagan Resort, are pairing up for a flavour-packed and fun-filled virtual tasting at the landmark Mission Hill Family Estate. First, winery Executive Chef Patrick Gayler and resort Executive Chef David Foot will tag team their twist on that BBQ staple, potato salad, live from the TV-worthy Culinary Theatre. Then, your host duo, Shannon Bruckshaw and Clee Varon, will join Iconic Wineries of BC General Manager Graham Nordin to taste wines ideal for spring sipping. While you raise your glasses, they will also share juicy insider tips on what makes Kelowna an unbeatable pick for both winemakers, and event planners. 

Prep Tip: Don’t forget to chill your wines before the session and set up your sipping space before logging on.
