Nothing beats the fresh spring air in the Central Okanagan. Warming temperatures and longer days bring blossoming orchards, fun outdoor events and hiking trails clear of snow along Okanagan Lake, but up in the mountains spring skiing is still possible.
Located on the shores of Okanagan Lake in downtown is the Delta Hotels by Marriott Grand Okanagan Resort. This is the perfect home base while exploring all Kelowna has to offer in the spring; it's within easy walking distance to urban wineries, breweries, restaurants, and coffee shops, and a short drive to outdoor adventure opportunities and orchards and vineyards. During your stay, don’t miss out on a meal or drinks on the lakefront patio at OAK + CRU. Late April and early May is the perfect time to go on a self guided spring blossom tour as the trees and plants of the orchards come alive. It's also a great time to get into the swing of things as most Kelowna golf courses are open by mid-April.
Get your fill of amazing food as you explore different areas of the central Okanagan. From your hotel, walk or bike south along the waterfront board walk and you'll find yourself on Abbott Street, lined with historic and picturesque homes. Make Waterfront Cafe your destination to grab a coffee and pastry to go or try their delicious breakfast or brunch items while sitting on the patio. Ride or walk through the Pandosy neighbourhood for funky shops and cute boutiques. Later, visit Frankie, We Salute You!, Kelowna's newest vegetarian restaurant with an amazing burger that is just as good as any meat based burger or their not-to-miss chickpea fries and much more. In the afternoon plan a hike to a waterfall or two while spring run off is at it’s peak (do your research to ensure its safe to do so). For dinner, a meal at the Red Fox Club will be incredibly memorable as Chef Andrea Callan uses ingredients she forages herself and focuses on a modern take to Indigenous foods.
