*Expected opening late Spring 2019*
Home Block at CedarCreek has simplicity at its heart; it’s a place where ingredients adeptly chosen and simply prepared create a kind of comforting clarity – everything in its place, nothing more than necessary. The wood fire grill is at the heart of our cooking; a minimalist intervention that enhances without unnecessarily intruding, resulting in honest and bold food.
We celebrate homemade ingredients and seasonal produce whenever possible. We feature small plates, family style – rustic and comforting in outlook– or individual entrées if you prefer. Wine is, of course, poured freely, and paired with the kind of precision you’d expect.
Home Block at CedarCreek is, ultimately, the culinary partner to our wines. A place where guests can expect to feel inspired, welcome and at home.
Jeremy Tucker, Executive Winery Chef
Grew up in Summerside P.E.I., and began his career as a dishwasher during high school. Jeremy
took an interest in cooking and began learning the basics, moving up to cook. Jeremy graduated
from the Culinary Institute of Canada in Charlottetown P.E.I. in 2001 acquiring his red seal shortly
after. Jeremy has had the honor of cooking at the James Beard House in New York City as well as
various other special events on the East coast. Jeremy has worked at some very notable restaurants
in Prince Edward Island including Seasons in Thyme, the Delta Prince Edward, and the Inn at Bay
Fortune where Jeremy enjoyed easy access to superior quality seafood and shellfish.
With the travel bug he moved to Bermuda for 2 years gaining exposure to different cultures, foods,
and lifestyle. At the age of 21 he took charge of his own kitchen as executive chef at Storm
Mountain Lodge in Banff National Park. This is where he fell in love with mountain life. After
cooking in the mountains for 9 years he created a reputation as a chef in one of the best places to
eat in Banff. Jeremy now spends his winters as executive chef at Snowwater Heli-Ski. A boutique
backcountry Heli-Ski lodge catering to small intimate groups of 12. He is only limited by his
imagination creating new menu daily for his lucky guests.
Jeremy met his wife Caroline while in Banff who has a background in the wine industry so naturally
they were drawn to the Okanagan as it's the source of some of Canada's best wine. Jeremy joined
von Mandl Family Estates in 2013, as the sous chef at the Terrace Restaurant at Mission Hill Family
Estate Winery. Although he keeps himself busy in the winter at Snowwater Heli-Ski, he has
succumbed to the charm of winery restaurants in the Okanagan and returns to head the culinary
team at CedarCreek Estate Winery as Executive Winery Chef each year.
At the Vineyard Tarrace Restaurant, Jeremy follows our farm to table philosophy showcasing local,
seasonal ingredients at their freshest. His menu is designed to highlight the bounty of the
Okanagan paired with CedarCreek's outstanding wines.
