Yesterday was Tourism Kelowna’s AGM at the Delta Grand, and it was attended by 80 tourism stakeholders who heard updates on Tourism Kelowna activities from Tourism Kelowna’s Board Executive Committee and our CEO, Nancy Cameron. At the AGM, the 2013 Board of Directors was announced. Nancy also gave a synopsis of Tourism Kelowna’s departmental activities like snapshots of our advertising and marketing initiatives, sales successes, event bid submissions, and articles generated by our media relations program. She also provided an overview of tourism in 2012 – where people visited from, how tourism did in 2012 versus 2011, and factors that affected tourism this year. Following the AGM, Aaron Nissen of Think Social Media presented an Advanced Social Media Workshop and updated businesses on the uses of Facebook, Twitter, Pintrest, YouTube, and various other social media channels.
