Statistics show that more than half of workplace accidents involve young and new workers during their first six months on the job. Effective training is key to helping workers understand workplace safety and is the best way to prevent accidents.

To help your employees better understand, prevent, and deal with risks and hazards they may encounter in the tourism and hospitality industry, encourage them or register them to take go2HR’s Foundations of Workplace Safety, a new online certification designed specifically for new and young workers. The course covers relevant topics that young workers are often unsure about, such as their rights and responsibilities, and common workplace health and safety hazards in tourism and hospitality.

All course participants will receive WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) certification recognized by WorkSafeBC. High school students who successfully complete the course can receive credits towards the Workforce Training Certificates 12 program. As the course is delivered online, registrants can work through the material at their own pace and in the convenience of their own home.
