You're invited to attend Tourism Kelowna's Industry Forum on Wednesday, May 11, in person at the Coast Capri Hotel for a day of connection and learning.

In the morning, you'll hear updates from Tourism Kelowna's team followed by a panel discussion on workplace culture and staff retention. The afternoon will kick off with a panel presentation about social media and photography. From there, Tourism Kelowna's 2021 Annual General Meeting will take place followed by a networking reception, where industry and community members can reconnect in person. 

Registration for each individual session, the AGM, and the industry reception must be completed separately, so you can attend one, several, or all of them as it fits with your schedule.


Schedule of Events:
  • 9:30–10:30 a.m. – Tourism Kelowna Department Updates 
    • ​Learn more about what each of Tourism Kelowna's departments—Business & Destination Development, Community & Visitor Engagement, and Marketing & Communications—is working on now and in the months ahead. 
       
  • 10:45–11:45 a.m. – Workplace Culture & Staff Retention: Strengthen Your Position in the Current Labour Shortage
    • Moderated by Tourism Kelowna, this panel of industry professionals—Ginger Brunner, Senior HR Specialist, go2HR; Natalie Corbett, Director of Continuous Improvement, Accent Inns; and, Shawnee Love, Lead Consultant/President, LoveHR—will discuss industry best practices in recruitment and retention to help your business hold a stronger position for success during the current labour shortage.
       
  • 11:45 a.m.–1 p.m. Break
     
  • 1–2 p.m. – Social Media & Photography: Tips & Tricks for Creating Winning Content
    • Creating engaging content that reaches your social media audience is not easy. In this 1-hour panel discussion, you’ll learn social strategies, tips for creating eye-catching images and content that resonates with your followers, and how to work the algorithms for success. Panellists will include photographer Shawn Talbot, Jill Jarrett, Marketing Director, Nixon Hospitality, and Ria Kitsch, Founder of Kitsch Wines.
       
  • 2:30–4 p.m. – Tourism Kelowna 2021 AGM
    • ​Attend the AGM for a review of the Tourism Kelowna Society's 2021 year. Tourism Kelowna voting stakeholders are invited to vote on annual business.
       
  • 4–6 p.m. – Industry Social
    • Light refreshments will be provided.
