It's not unusual to hear the term destination development these days. You've likely come across it in our Industry News Centre posts or heard it mentioned at our Plug-In Sessions; however, if you google destination development, the amount of information is staggering and the stories varied in scope. 

In our world of destination marketing, the role of organizations like Tourism Kelowna has been evolving. Through this evolution, we need to examine our destination and determine how we can ensure our reputation remains positive and the desirability to visit remains high. Since destination development can imply so many things, determining what it means for tourism businesses operating in Kelowna can be a challenge.

To meet this challenge head-on, Tourism Kelowna has recruited the experts at Destination Think! Chief Strategist, William Bakker, will be the guest speaker at our next Stakeholder Plug-In Session, which is taking place from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 2, at the Kelowna Yacht Club.
