TIAC Member Talk

Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC) members are invited to join the organization's President and CEO, Beth Botter, for a discussion about TIAC's "post-election priorities and action plan." Get to Know UBCO Co-op: Virtual Coffee Chat

On Wednesday, October 13, from 10:30 to 11 a.m. PDT, UBC Okanagan's Interdisciplinary Co-op office will be hosting a virtual coffee chat for businesses and organizations to learn more about UBCO's co-op program and to discuss the resources available to assist in the hiring process. Registration for the Zoom session can be completed online


na̓ʔk̓ʷulamən: Traditional Shelters and Tule Mats

The next session in Kelowna Museums' na̓ʔk̓ʷulamən series takes place virtually on Wednesday, October 13, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The family-friendly session will focus on "traditional shelters and lifestyles of First Nations’ from around Turtle Island, with a particular focus on syilx (Okanagan) culture." Those individuals in and around Kelowna can visit the Okanagan Heritage Museum to pick up materials to make their own mini tulle mat. 


How to Apply to Futurpreneur's Black Entrepreneur Startup Program

Join Business Development Managers from Futurpreneur Canada on Thursday, October 14, from 10-11 a.m. PDT, to learn more about the Black Entrepreneur Startup Program, including its application process and eligibility requirements. Elements of Truth: Before Reconciliation

The second session in kinSHIFT and Purppl's four-part Elements of Truth series, Air: Expanding Perspectives, takes place on Friday, October 15.  Each workshop in the series is 2.5 hours long, taking place every Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. The rest of the October workshops are as follows:

  • Fire: Awareness of Power and Privilege, October 22
  • Water: Shared Responsibilities, October 29

Valley Wide 2021 Small Business Week

Community Futures is inviting business owners in the Okanagan and Shuswap "to participate in three days of development workshops and connect with peers from across the valley" through their virtual Small Business Week events. Taking place from October 19 to 21, sessions are centred around three main topics: 

  • Doing Business in Uncertain Times
  • Recruitment & Retention
  • Entrepreneurship & Innovation

Unicorns.LIVE

Unicorns.LIVE has a couple of live-streamed programs taking place this week:
