UpBeat, hosted by Creative Okanagan, kicked off last week and will run every Tuesday and Thursday, from 4:30-6 p.m. PDT, until May 6. Each session will highlight a theme that arose during initial community engagement for the Central Okanagan Music Strategy. Register online to participate, providing input that will help shape the strategy.
SBBC hosts a variety of educational webinars geared for small businesses. Upcoming sessions include:
- Thursday, April 15: COVID-19 Workplace Health & Safety Update, 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. PDT.
- Tuesday, April 20: Marketing for Small Business, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. PDT

Federal Budget Webinars
The following webinars will facilitate discussions and provide updates regarding the federal budget, which will be tabled on April 19:
- Monday, April 19: Budget Talks: The Impact of the Federal Budget on BC Business, hosted KPMG, 4:30-5:30 p.m. PDT
- Tuesday, April 20: Federal Budget 2021: The Road to Recovery, hosted by KPMG, 6-7 a.m. PDT
- Tuesday, April 20: 2021 Federal Budget Briefing, hosted by Kelowna Chamber of Commerce and KPMG, 7:30-9 a.m. PDT
On Tuesday, April 20, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce will host a fireside chat with its President and CEO, Perrin Beatty, and the President of the Public Health Agency of Canada, Iain Stewart. The virtual event takes place from 12-12:45 p.m. PDT and will include a live Q&A. Registration can be completed online.
Join the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, April 20, from 9-10 a.m. PDT, for the latest Business Smarts Webinar, which will provide information on consumer demand for products, an "8-step formula for productizing your service," and more. Register in advance online.
On Wednesday, April 21, from 12-1 p.m. PDT, the Greater Westside Board of Trade (GW) will host the State of the City Virtual Lunch with West Kelowna's Mayor, Gord Milsom. Visit the GW website to register.

Heart of Hospitality Awards
The Kelowna Hotel Motel Association will present the 2020 Heart of Hospitality Awards virtually at 1 p.m. PDT on Thursday, April 22, recognizing staff who have gone above and beyond to represent the companies that they work for, along with the community they live in. The Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association (TOTA) is hosting a virtual job fair and open house on Thursday, April 22, to connect participants from its Tourism Skills Training Program with prospective employers, and to provide industry members with an opportunity to network.
