Elements of Truth: Before Reconciliation

kinSHIFT and Purppl are once again hosting their four-part “experiential workshop series” starting this January, with the first workshop, Earth: Impacts of Colonization, taking place on Monday, January 10. Each of the four workshops is 2.5 hours long, taking place from 5-7:30 p.m. PST. The rest of the January workshops are as follows:

  • Air: Expanding Perspectives, January 17
  • Fire: Awareness of Power and Privilege, January 24
  • Water: Shared Responsibilities, January 31

The series will also be offered from the beginning starting on February 4, running each Thursday in the month from 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. PST.

Canada Summer Jobs Info Session

Join TalentMATCH on Wednesday, January 10, at 1 p.m. PST to learn more about the Canada Summer Jobs Program, which provides non-profit organizations, small businesses, and public sector employers with funding so youth (aged 15 – 30) can gain valuable summer work experience. The info session is free but advanced registration is required. Applications for the program are due by January 25, 2022.

Mayor Milsom's State of the City Presentation

On Thursday, January 13, West Kelowna Mayor, Gord Milsom, will host two presentations, one over breakfast (7:30 a.m. – 9 a.m. PST) and one over lunch (11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. PST), discussing the state of the city. The event will be hosted in person at The Cove Lakeside Resort; proof of vaccination will be required to attend. Registration can be completed through the Greater Westside Board of Trade website.


Carbon Footprint Measurement, Reduction and Offsetting 101

GreenStep Solutions is hosting this webinar on Thursday, January 13, at 10 a.m. PST to provide attendees with information regarding the technical side of carbon measurement, as well as tactics to reduce carbon and how to offset what you can’t reduce. UnWined After 5

Kelowna Women in Business is inviting members to its first event of the year. Kicking off at 5:30 p.m. PST on Thursday, January 13, the one-hour online event will break up participants into groups of 10, where each person will then be able to present their business pitches.
