As part of Destination Canada’s speaker series, Tourism Kelowna members and industry partners are invited to join our team on Tuesday, December 13, to learn more about the Trans Canada Trail (TCT) and its forthcoming Exceptional Trail Experience program and accreditation.

Leading the online session will be TCT Director, Policies and Stakeholder Relations, Michael Goodyear—he will discuss TCT's Six Strategies for Success and National Trail Tourism Strategy, as well as its destination development funding stream. A key element of the strategy, the Exceptional Trail Experience program and accreditation, which is currently under development, will also be discussed.

The TCT team is working to build connections with trail groups and local communities to develop the trail as a premier tourism destination in Canada. Trails users and those with a vested interest in the local section of the TCT, or those who use or are stewards of surrounding trail systems, will benefit from hearing about the Exceptional Trails Experience Program. The session will allow attendees to learn how their work can tie into the program and the six strategies of success for mutual benefit. The TCT is the longest network of multi-use recreational trails in the world and includes Kelowna's Myra Canyon Trestles Trail.

The session will take place via Zoom from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. PST. Advance registration is required and can be completed online here. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
