Tourism Kelowna’s Sales Team attended Tête à Tête in Ottawa to remind national association conference planners that Kelowna is a great place for their next annual convention. Tête à Tête is an annual one-day event that attracts 500 attendees and is organized by the Ottawa Gatineau chapter of the Canadian Society of Association Executives. This year Tourism Kelowna was joined in our booth by Mission Hill Family Estate, Four Points by Sheraton Kelowna Airport, and the Delta Grand Okanagan Resort & Conference Centre and offered attendees a taste of hot apple cider from the Okanagan Valley while they stopped to chat.
Prior to the trade show, Tourism Kelowna also participated in Destination Direct. This new event was coordinated by Meeting of the Minds, an organization of Meeting Sales representatives from Canadian Destination Marketing Organizations. The event started with an evening reception where destinations and their clients were able to network and get to know each other better. The next day, Tourism Kelowna had one-on-one meetings with eleven different planners in a hotel suite and hosted one planner for lunch.
Overall the trip to Ottawa was successful; along with our 11 appointments, we chatted with an additional 39 associations at our booth and have already received leads as a result of our attendance.
