Do you know a small business in BC that deserves to be recognized for the work they do? Or are you proud of what you’ve achieved in your own business? Nominations for this year's Small Business BC (SBBC) Awards, celebrating small businesses in BC, are now being accepted.

Businesses can be nominated for a total of two categories: the Premier's People's Choice Award, which is presented to a BC-based small business that can demonstrate its community's unwavering and loyal support, and one of three Business Pitch Categories, as outlined on the SBBC website:

  • Business Impact Award: This award will go to a business owner(s) making a difference in their community.
  • Best Youth Entrepreneur Award: This award will recognize a business leader aged 35 and under who has demonstrated a track record of success with a business that’s been in operation for at least 12 months.
  • E-Commerce Experience Award: This award will go to a small business that presents an enjoyable experience for its customers online.

The Top 5 finalists in the Business Impact Award category—which will be determined through a combination of public voting and judging of award applications—will be required to present to a panel of judges who will then select the winner. The Premier’s People’s Choice award is based solely on the number of votes a nominee receives—no panel presentation is required.

Nominations are being accepted until March 10, and winners will be announced at an in-person gala celebration on June 2, 2023.

To celebrate the SBBC Awards' 20th Anniversary, each of the four award categories has a $10,000 prize purse.
