On January 23, I attended International Media Marketplace (IMM) on behalf of Tourism Kelowna, meeting with highly qualified travel media and influencers, mostly from the US and Canada. The event attracted close to 500 media and over 400 tourism industry members, making it one of the largest networking events of its kind in North America.

Twenty-four, 15-minute speed dating-style appointments were prescheduled between tourism industry professionals and editors, freelance journalists, and influencers. During these appointments, I met with journalists representing exciting outlets like Outside Magazine, Lonely Planet, Matador Network, Trip Savvy, Forbes, The Globe & Mail, USA Today 10Best, Fodor's, and more. Many of the media did not know much about Kelowna, which offered an opportunity to give them an overview of all the great things our destination has to offer including our amazing year-round outdoor activities, top-notch wine and culinary experiences, and the history of the people and land. Interest in sharing Kelowna’s story was strong and as follow up continues, we look forward to bringing new media influencers to experience what we have to offer and to spread the word about our amazing four-season destination through media outlets in Canada and the US.
