This past Friday, October 18, four Washington State-based meeting planners arrived in Kelowna (thanks to the easy, direct flight access from Seattle) to enjoy a whirlwind retreat focused on personal wellness.

Our team welcomed the three third-party meeting planners and one corporate meeting planner to Kelowna on Friday afternoon, alongside partners from 50th Parallel Estate Winery, Argus Properties, Cantrav, Coast Capri HotelDelta Hotels by Marriott Grand Okanagan Resort, Mission Hill Family Estate, and  Summerhill Pyramid Winery

Upside Cider M&C

The weekend started off at Upside Cidery, where guests had a chance to hear fitness and wellness expert, Tracy Steen, speak about the importance of daily physical movement. Then, after settling into their guestrooms at Manteo Resort, the group headed over to Summerhill Pyramid Winery to experience stillness in the pyramid and to savour a delicious, wine-paired dinner featuring recently harvested produce.  After dinner, the group returned to the Manteo to relax fireside while mental health first aid expert, Quintin Steen, discussed strategies to maintain optimal mental health.

The following morning, the group enjoyed a carefully-created breakfast filled with nutrients to fuel them through a hike on Knox Mountain.

After getting their daily dose of exercise, everyone was rewarded with a tour of Mission Hill's impressive grounds followed by a three-course wine-paired lunch in the Chagall room.

The planners were all impressed with the vast array of options Kelowna has available for their groups as well as the easy air access. Tourism Kelowna will continue to educate planners from the Seattle area in order to secure more meetings, conferences, and incentive travel from the Washington State market.
