Tourism Kelowna’s website is undergoing a major overhaul to make it a mobile-first design with stronger visual and design elements, incorporating Tourism Kelowna's brand colours and fonts.
The website will have more interactive elements, providing additional opportunities for users to explore more. The redesign will provide an enhanced user experience for all devices. Watch for the new website design launching mid- to late-May.
What does this mean for Tourism Kelowna's stakeholders?
Your listing information will remain unchanged; however, we would highly recommend updating your listing before the new design launches. Learn how to update your listing on the Extranet. Since visual elements will be a big part of the design, images on listings will have an increased size. Listings can have up to 10 images; all images should ideally be landscape orientation and need to be at least 2000 x 1325 px. The image can be a higher pixel density than this, but anything lower may result in a grainy image on large screens. Ensure your logo is a PNG file, as this format will display best with the new design.
What else can you aspect?
- On multiple pages, videos will auto-play within the header of the design on the desktop view. A play button will appear in the mobile view, so the user can choose to watch or not, respecting the user's data usage.
- Page content will expand from edge to edge, using as much of the screen as possible.
- Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) will be incorporated into the website. AMP loads a webpage as fast as possible, which increases the mobile user experience and improves a website's rank on search engines. This means AMP enhances Tourism Kelowna's SEO efforts.
