The new Kelowna Visitor Centre at the Queensway Jetty is coming along well and really taking shape. The construction reached an important milestone as the large beams for the building were installed this past week. This makes way for additional construction elements to fall into place, including further work on the small mezzanine and additional framing. Exterior signage planning is underway as more details fall into place. Landscaping around the building will begin in April and will be done by a City of Kelowna contractor. The project remains on budget and on schedule for a mid-2018 opening.
In the coming weeks and months watch for Tourism Kelowna's Visitor Experience Team to be on site with the mobile visitor centre to welcome and assist visitors and residents. This will increase the activity and excitement as we get closer to opening our new visitor centre. New, temporary signage is also coming soon.
