National Volunteer Week - Kelowna Golf Club

April 15-21 marked National Volunteer Week for 2018. This week was a chance for Tourism Kelowna to celebrate the contributions that our volunteers have made to our organization over the past year. Tourism Kelowna started the week of thank-you events with a kick-off reception at McCurdy Bowling for some friendly team competition and a chance to gather and socialize. Other activities included a wine tour with Roots & Vines Tours, as well as stakeholder visits in both North Kelowna and West Kelowna.

National Volunteer Week - Ancient Hill

We wrapped up the week with our annual National Volunteer Week Luncheon at The Kelowna Forum with catering from Start Fresh Kitchen. Tourism Kelowna President & CEO, Lisanne Ballantyne spoke to our volunteers' tremendous contributions and thanked them for their service. Volunteers who contributed the most hours in 2017 were awarded and recognized at the luncheon. Congratulations to Joanne Kass (most volunteer hours - airport), Ruth Penninga (most volunteer hours - downtown location), Lucy Avery (most volunteer hours - floater volunteer), and Bruce Taylor (most meeting hours). We would also like to say a big thank you to our stakeholders who graciously hosted our team over the week; it was an engaging and educational week for all!
