Wine Tasting Event at Canoe Restaurant
For the second year, Kelowna has had a strong presence in Toronto during Canada Meet Week. Pat Gappmayr organized a series of initiatives for our Kelowna team, culminating in team attendance at the Ignite Business Expo in the downtown Metro Toronto Convention Centre. The week began with a couple of sales luncheons in Guelph and Kitchener. The feedback from clients in attendance was very positive – they were thrilled that we took the time to come to them and impressed with the partners; while our team felt that overall attendance was weaker than expected. We also hosted a wine tasting reception at Canoe restaurant in downtown Toronto where Chef John Horne who competed in Kelowna at the Canadian Culinary Championships paired fabulous wines from Summerhill Pyramid Winery, Quails’ Gate Estate Winery and Mission Family Estate with foods from British Columbia and the Okanagan Valley. This event was well attended with over thirty attendees despite several other events taking place that evening. The group also joined forces to sponsor a Business Events Industry Coalition of Canada Zone reception where they poured wine from Mission Hill Family Estate. Finally the group welcomed over fifty meeting planners to the Kelowna booth at the Ignite Business Expo where they learned about hosting a meeting or conference in Kelowna.
